Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248, Cantatas Nos. 4, 5, 6

Charles Daniels Evangelist
The Choir of New College
Robert Quinney conductor

The acclaimed Choir of New College and the Oxford Philharmonic awaken the festive spirit with the conclusion of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, following the performance of the first three cantatas in December 2016. Composed for the Christmas festivities of 1734, the last three cantatas tell the story of the Magi and their visit to the newborn Christ. Bach's oratorio incorporates the Christmas story into a musical fabric of harmonic innovation to form a truly celebratory work.

Concert ends at approx 9.30pm.

Tickets: £42.00 £30.00 £20.00 £10.00
