This special concert is in memory of Dr
Oliver Impey, a curator in the Ashmolean’s Department of
Eastern Art for 37 yeas, who died in September 2005.
A performance of Verdi’s Requiem will be
a fitting tribute to a distinguished man as our thoughts ponder
on the finality of death, the nature of God and eternity, and
the accountability of the human soul.
