Mozart and Bruckner
Sheldonian Theatre
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 27 in B flat major, K. 595
BRUCKNER Symphony No. 7 in E major

Marios Papadopoulos piano/conductor

At a glance you would struggle to find two composers more unlike each other than Mozart, the child prodigy, and Bruckner, for whom success took 60 years to arrive. But when you set the former’s finely-nuanced autumnal piano concerto – performed by Oxford Philomusica’s Music Director Marios Papadopoulos – against the latter’s best-loved tribute to Wagner their differences melt away, leaving both to shine as equals: as great musical masters.
